Tidewater Players is excited to announce our 2010/2011 Season:

LOST IN YONKERS by Neil Simon
Directed by Rob Oppel September 17 - October 2, 2010
Winner of the 1991 Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award® for Best Play, Lost in Yonkers is about finding one’s way through the tangled web of family relationships without losing the sense of self or sense of humor. Set in Yonkers, NY in 1942, the play focuses on two young brothers, Arty and Jay, left in the care of their feuding relatives, Grandma Kurnitz and Aunt Bella. Lost in Yonkers epitomizes Neil Simon’s trademark mix of comedy and drama. The New York Post hailed Lost in Yonkers, “The best play Simon ever wrote.”

November -December, 2010
The Rodgers & Hammerstein musical we hoped to present in this time slot is not available, so we are exploring other options. More to come soon.

THE BOYS NEXT DOOR by Tom Griffin
Directed by Dickie Mahoney & Ken Williamson March 4 - 19, 2011
An Off-Broadway success, this very funny yet very touching play focuses on the lives of four mentally challenged men who live in a communal residence under the watchful eye of a sincere, but increasingly despairing, social worker. Filled with humor, the play is also marked by compassion and understanding with which it peers into the half-lit world of its handicapped protagonists. "The Boys Next Door" moves the audience to an awareness of how many things in everyday life we take for granted..." NY Times.
